If you want to make your own pillar candle, it is advisable that you get your supplies from pillar candles wholesale suppliers. It’s better to get a wholesale pillar candle wax and other supplies because you can use them to make many candles to be used as gifts or for business purposes. You will need a double boiler or steel pot, paraffin wax, candle mold, mold seal, wick, liquid dye, and fragrance. You can find these in most candle stores online or in the market. You may also opt to buy wholesale unscented pillar candles or scented ones, along with a matching candle holder pillar.
First, start by inserting your wick into the mold’s wick hole. Tie the loose end to the skewer that sits on top of your mold. If your mold comes with a wick screw for the hole, secure the screw now. Don’t make it too tight because it may damage your wick and mold. Seal the bottom end of your wick, where the screw is, with mold seal to prevent wax from leaking.
Now, melt your wax, using a double broiler or steel pot in 175-185F degrees. Once it becomes smooth, add oil or dyes as desired. Stir with an old wooden spoon. After that, start pouring it into your mold while leaving around ½ inch of space. Once a surface has formed on top of the wax, poke holes around the wick to a depth of one inch less than the height of your candle. This will prevent air cavities which can make your candle deformed. Do this as your wax cools because it will decrease in volume as it cools down. Let it cool for several hours, after which, the leftover wax in your pot should be re-melted and poured into the holes without overfilling. Allow it to cool at room temperature. Once solid, remove the mold sealer and the wick screw. If it’s cooled completely, it will easily slide out of the mold. Then, trim your wicks and place it in a pillar candle holder!
